01 Is there a genuinely free way to host Palworld?
You can avoid a hosting subscription by running the dedicated-server software on hardware you already own. You still pay for the game where required, electricity, internet access and your time; the machine must stay available when friends want to play. Calling this “free Palworld server hosting” describes the absence of rent, not the absence of costs.
We did not verify an indefinitely free third-party plan that we can recommend for a persistent, developed world. A free offer needs the same questions as a paid one: available memory, suspension rules, export access and who can recover a failed save. Do not move your only copy of a world to an unverified free service.

Offers change. Read the live eligibility rules, payment requirement and renewal behaviour before opening an account. We did not redeem these trials or test refunds. A refund promise should never be converted into a “free forever” headline.
03 Use a short trial to answer one important question
Write down what would make you reject the plan: friends cannot join, a restart loses changes, the world runs into its memory ceiling, or saves cannot be exported. Test that before decorating a new base. An empty world that starts once is not a meaningful reliability result.
- Record the trial’s exact end time and time zone.
- Use a copied world, not your only production save.
- Have actual players join at the same time and perform a normal session.
- Save and restart; verify a known change remains.
- Download the world and configuration while the account is still active.
The last step matters even if you intend to buy: leaving should be possible. Use the export and migration checklist to verify the archive.
04 When self-hosting is the better no-rent option
Self-hosting makes sense when you have suitable spare hardware, can accept downtime and can provide a reachable network route. An always-on cloud free tier may instead have scarce capacity, spending conditions or suspension policies. Inspect the actual limits rather than assuming any free virtual machine can run Palworld.
If your friends use PS5, establish the Community listing path before choosing a home-network workaround; a PC-only tunnel does not automatically solve console access.
